revising marriage age
Women’s age of marriage was increased from 15 years 18 eighteen years in 1978 by amending erstwhile Sharda Act of 1929. As India progresses further, opportunities open up for women to pursue higher education and careers.
Central Government is going to revise it again in accordance of the recommendation by a high level committee, which will submit it's report by 31st July.
As age of marriage has direct impact on infant mortality, maternal mortality, total fertility, sex ratio at birth and child sex ratio.
Higher age of marriage means, lesser number of reproductive year for women.
May be it's a part and strategy to control population without population control bill. What's say?
Since it's a perception that argument on population control is for targeting a particular religion, government has taken another way to do it. Because, Where straightforwardness has never a chance of working, crookedness flourishes.
After NRC, CAA, who will like to take flying arrows.
But, isn't it irony that government thinks that more the younger you're, the more immature you'll be? I think, age of maturity becomes lower with the succession of generation and so the understanding and capacity to grasp thing.
My concern is the impact of this move on LIVE-IN-RELATIONSHIPS, LIQUOR AGE. If age for these 2 things is raised in respect to age of marriage, then this is really going to be problematic.
Further, it will lead to hectic control of parents on their child, specially for girlz. Because they will have face moral hazards of it.
I will not compare it with the provision of foreign countries, that comparative argument will be a base for copying others.
I want to frame the comparison, with pre-industrial society, when there was no sexual imbalance, infant mortality, maternal mortality ect. And the age of marriage was just 13-15.
Don't believe me, go and verify your own but wait....
When society was completely agrarian and JHOOOM AGRICULTURE was being practiced, there was a unique way to marriage. After the girl and boy of settlement, completed age of 13, all of them had to lock themselves in particular place(say palace). Every girl and every boy had to intimate with each other at most 3 times. After that, they had to choose life partner for themselves among themselves.
Okay don't go that far, try to find the age of marriage of your grand-maa, and great grand-maa and also find which type of implication they had gone through after marriage, whether they had normal delivery or not, had they faced infant mortality?
hope your answer will SUPPORT lower age of marriage.
